Custom Jerusalem Cross / Crusader Cross morale patch.
The Cross of the Holy Land — Crusader heraldry on the flight suit.
The Jerusalem Cross — also called the Crusader Cross or Cross-and-Crosslets — is a heraldic symbol of the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem (1099–1291), consisting of a large central cross surrounded by four smaller crosses in each quadrant. The design has carried Christian, Crusader, and Holy-Land iconography for nearly a thousand years and was historically used as the coat of arms of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem and many of the Christian military orders that grew out of it — the Knights Hospitaller, the Knights Templar, the Teutonic Order, and the Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Today the Jerusalem Cross remains the official emblem of the Custody of the Holy Land (the Franciscan order entrusted with care of the Holy Land sites) and is widely worn by U.S. military service members on chaplain crosses, Holy Land deployment commemoratives, and faith-based morale patches across the services. This morale patch is for Christian active-duty and veteran service members, military chaplains, and pilgrims who carry the Cross of the Holy Land on the flight suit, plate carrier, helmet bag, or shadow box. The cross has stood for over 900 years. The patch carries the same line forward.
Perfect For: Christian active-duty and veteran service members across all branches, U.S. military chaplains, Holy Land deployment veterans, Knights of Columbus / Knights Templar / Knights Hospitaller historical orders, Catholic and Orthodox military communities, pilgrims to Jerusalem, and faith-based morale patch collectors.
