HMH-769 is a Marine Corps Reserve CH-53E Super Stallion squadron whose crews embody the road hog mentality — taking up as much space as needed, moving as much weight as required, and never yielding the right of way.
The "Road Hog" name perfectly describes the CH-53E Super Stallion experience. At 99 feet long with a seven-blade main rotor spanning 79 feet, the Super Stallion dominates any flight line, landing zone, or ship deck it occupies. The aircraft's massive turbine engines generate so much rotor wash that personnel and equipment must be secured before a CH-53E approaches. Road Hog crews take pride in the sheer size and power of their aircraft — when a Super Stallion arrives, everything else gets out of the way. HMH-769's Reserve Marines maintain proficiency in this demanding aircraft, ready to bring their heavyweight capability to any operation when called upon.
