Marine Helicopters CH-46 First in Last Out Patch — Embroidered Patch

The Phrog That Never Quit

First in, last out. For over four decades, the CH-46 Sea Knight was the aircraft that delivered Marines to the fight and brought them home. This patch celebrates the Phrog's extraordinary service life and the generations of aircrew and maintainers who kept her flying long past what anyone thought possible. If you ever rode in the back of a Phrog or flew one from the cockpit, this is your patch.

The CH-46 Sea Knight entered Marine Corps service in 1964 and didn't retire until 2015 — a remarkable fifty-one year career that spanned every major Marine operation from Vietnam through Afghanistan. The Phrog flew its first combat missions in Vietnam, where it became the primary medium-lift assault helicopter, carrying Marines into landing zones and extracting casualties under fire. Through the decades that followed, the CH-46 served in Beirut, Grenada, Desert Storm, Somalia, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. The aircraft's tandem-rotor design, rear loading ramp, and rugged construction made it ideally suited for the demanding conditions of Marine expeditionary operations. Generations of Marine pilots earned their wings in the Phrog, and generations of grunt Marines rode in her cabin. No other helicopter served the Corps as faithfully or as long.

Perfect For:
CH-46 aircrew veterans, Phrog pilots and crew chiefs, Marine helicopter maintainers, rotary-wing aviation historians, Marine medium-lift community members, and military patch collectors

Fifty-one years. Every clime and place. The Phrog was always there.
