Officially Licensed CBP Yuma Air Branch 2021 commemorative patch.
Yuma Air Branch — AS350 H125 Light Enforcement Helicopters over the Southwest border, 2021 vintage.
The Yuma Air Branch is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations (AMO) unit based in Yuma, Arizona, and is part of AMO's Southwest Region — the regional command responsible for more than 2,000 linear miles of U.S.–Mexico border. The branch operates the Airbus AS350/H125 A-Star "Light Enforcement Helicopter" — a short-range, turbine-powered rotorcraft built for aerial patrol, low-altitude surveillance of stationary or moving targets, and rapid response to ground-unit requests for support. Yuma Air Branch crews fly daily border patrol and surveillance missions, search and rescue operations across the Sonoran Desert, suspect tracking, active-shooter response, and partner support to U.S. Border Patrol agents on the ground. The branch's lineage traces back through the broader CBP Air and Marine story: the U.S. Customs Aviation Program was established by Congress in 1969, the Aviation and Marine Programs merged into the Air and Marine Interdiction Division (AMID) in 1999, AMID transitioned to the Department of Homeland Security and was renamed Air and Marine Operations (AMO) in 2003, AMO was reassigned to CBP in 2004, and the modern CBP Air and Marine Operations stood up in 2005–2006 as the largest civilian law enforcement air force in the world. This 2021 commemorative patch carries the colors of the Yuma Air Branch crews who flew the H125 along the southwest border that year.
Perfect For: Yuma Air Branch active-duty and retired pilots, Air Interdiction Agents (AIAs), aircrew, mechanics, and support personnel; CBP Air and Marine Operations Southwest Region staff; H125/AS350 A-Star pilots and maintainers; U.S. Border Patrol Yuma Sector partners; DHS and CBP heritage collectors; and federal law enforcement aviation patch enthusiasts.
