HRS Korea Ribbon Patch — HRS Helicopter Korean War Service Ribbon Embroidered Patch

HRS Korea — the helicopter that proved vertical envelopment in the mountains of Korea, now paired with the campaign ribbon.

The Sikorsky HRS (H-19 Chickasaw) was the Marine Corps' primary transport helicopter during the Korean War. HRS helicopters of HMR-161 conducted the first tactical helicopter troop lifts in combat history, validating the concept of vertical envelopment that the Marine Corps had been developing since 1947. Operations Windmill, Summit, Bumblebee, and Blackbird proved that helicopters could move combat-loaded Marines over terrain that would take hours to cross on foot. This ribbon patch combines the Korean War service ribbon with the aircraft that changed Marine Corps warfare forever.

Perfect For:
Korean War Marine helicopter veterans, HRS/H-19 Chickasaw enthusiasts, Marine rotary-wing pioneers, Korean War service ribbon collectors, and vintage USMC helicopter patch collectors.

HRS Korea. Service ribbon. Pioneers.
