HO3S Korea Ribbon Patch — HO3S Helicopter Korean War Service Ribbon Embroidered Patch
HO3S Korea — the Sikorsky helicopter that flew the earliest Marine rotary-wing missions in Korea, paired with the campaign ribbon.
The Sikorsky HO3S was one of the earliest helicopters employed by the Marine Corps in the Korean War. VMO-6's HO3S helicopters deployed to Korea in August 1950, flying observation, command transport, and medevac missions from the Pusan Perimeter through the Inchon landing and the Chosin Reservoir campaign. Brigade commander BGen Edward Craig used the HO3S to scout terrain, direct battalions, and coordinate operations in ways that fundamentally changed how commanders led in combat. This ribbon patch pairs the Korean War service ribbon with one of the first Marine combat helicopters.
Perfect For:
Korean War helicopter veterans, HO3S Sikorsky enthusiasts, early rotary-wing aviation pioneers, Korean War service ribbon collectors, and vintage Korean War aviation patch collectors.
