HRS Korea Patch — HRS Helicopter Korean War-Era Embroidered Patch

HRS Korea — the helicopter that pioneered Marine rotary-wing combat operations in the Korean War.

The Sikorsky HRS (H-19 Chickasaw) was the Marine Corps' primary transport helicopter during the Korean War, marking the birth of Marine helicopter assault warfare. Marine HRS helicopters conducted the first large-scale helicopter troop lifts in combat history, moving Marines over rugged Korean terrain that would have taken hours to cross on foot. Operation Bumblebee and other pioneering helicopter operations proved that vertical envelopment could change the nature of warfare. The HRS crews who flew in Korea laid the foundation for the entire Marine rotary-wing community that exists today.

Perfect For:
Korean War Marine helicopter veterans, HRS/H-19 Chickasaw enthusiasts, Marine rotary-wing aviation pioneers, Korean War aviation historians, and vintage USMC helicopter patch collectors.

HRS Korea. Birth of Marine helicopter warfare.
