Bell Patch — Embroidered Patch
The Name Behind the Blades
Before Bell, the helicopter was an experiment. After Bell, it was a weapon. This patch honors Bell Helicopter — the company that gave the Marine Corps the UH-1 Huey, the AH-1 Cobra, and generations of rotary-wing aircraft that defined how Marines fight from the air. If you've ever felt the thump of Huey blades or the whine of a Cobra's turbine, Bell made that happen.
Bell Aircraft Corporation revolutionized military aviation with the development of the UH-1 Iroquois — universally known as the Huey — which became the iconic helicopter of the Vietnam War. For the Marine Corps, Bell's contributions extended far beyond the Huey. The AH-1 Cobra series gave Marines their first dedicated attack helicopter, evolving from the single-engine AH-1G into the twin-engine AH-1W Super Cobra and ultimately the AH-1Z Viper that serves today. Bell also produced the UH-1Y Venom, the modernized utility helicopter that replaced the legacy Huey in Marine squadrons. From the jungles of Vietnam to the deserts of the Middle East, Bell helicopters have carried Marines into battle, provided close air support, and extracted the wounded for over six decades.
Perfect For:
