The Harrier II+ variant added the APG-65 radar, giving it beyond-visual-range capability with AIM-120 AMRAAMs on top of its already fearsome ground attack loadout. For decades, the Harrier has been the backbone of Marine expeditionary aviation, deploying aboard LHDs and LHAs with MEUs around the globe, providing responsive close air support that gets there faster than anything launched from a carrier deck hundreds of miles away.
