The AH-1 Cobra series has been the Marine Corps' dedicated attack helicopter since Vietnam, evolving from the AH-1W SuperCobra to the current AH-1Z Viper. The Cobra provides close air support, armed escort, and armed reconnaissance for Marines on the ground — a lethal weapons platform that has been killing the enemy from low altitude for over 50 years.
