8th Air Force WWII Patch
The Mighty Eighth. More combat losses than any air force in history — and they kept flying.
The Eighth Air Force was activated in 1942 and led the Allied strategic bombing campaign against Nazi Germany from bases across England. Flying B-17 Flying Fortresses and B-24 Liberators in daylight precision bombing raids deep into enemy territory, the Eighth suffered over 47,000 casualties — including more than 26,000 killed in action — the highest losses of any U.S. military organization in World War II. This patch is a reproduction of the original wartime design, produced for a WWII reunion.
Perfect For:
8th Air Force veterans and descendants, WWII aviation historians, bomber crew enthusiasts, and military heritage patch collectors.
The Mighty Eighth. They flew into the fire.
