Originally commissioned as Attack Squadron 115 (VA-115) on October 25, 1946 at NAS Norfolk, Virginia, the squadron flew the SB2C-5 Helldiver before transitioning through the AD-4 Skyraider in Korea, the A-1H Skyraider over Vietnam, the A-6A Intruder, and ultimately the A-6E Intruder until being redesignated VFA-115 on October 1, 1996 and transitioning to the F/A-18C Hornet. The Eagles made naval aviation history in November 2001 when they completed transition to the F/A-18E Super Hornet — becoming the first operational fleet F/A-18E squadron — and in July 2002 deployed aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) with Carrier Air Wing FOURTEEN, where on November 6, 2002 a VFA-115 Super Hornet dropped the type's first combat ordnance during Operation Southern Watch over Iraq. From 2009 through 2024 the Eagles served as a forward-deployed naval forces (FDNF) squadron with Carrier Air Wing FIVE (CVW-5) aboard USS George Washington (CVN-73) and USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76), homeported at NAF Atsugi and later MCAS Iwakuni, Japan — making the Eagles the longest continuously forward-deployed Super Hornet squadron in the Navy. The squadron's distinctive five-star, white-on-blue tail-flash design first flew over the Sea of Japan and now over the Western Pacific.

Perfect For: VFA-115 Eagles active-duty and veteran personnel, F/A-18E Super Hornet pilots and maintainers, NAS Lemoore residents and NAF Atsugi/MCAS Iwakuni alumni, Carrier Air Wing 5 and CVW-14 personnel, USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Ronald Reagan veterans, A-6 Intruder and SB2C Helldiver heritage enthusiasts, and Western Pacific FDNF deployers.

Eagles — first to fly the Rhino into combat.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0742/9831/files/4Patch_8_994a05dc-76ac-49ad-88ec-c2e4760adbeb.png?v=1777386531
