Barnum Jr. (DDG-124) is a Flight IIA Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned on April 11, 2026, at Naval Station Norfolk, where she is homeported. The ship is the first in the US Navy to bear the name of retired Marine Corps Col. Harvey Curtiss Barney Barnum Jr., one of the few living Medal of Honor recipients to witness the commissioning of a warship named in their honor. Barnum earned the Medal of Honor during Operation Harvest Moon on December 18, 1965, near the village of Ky Phu in Quang Tin Province, Vietnam. When his company commander was mortally wounded and the radio operator killed, then-First Lieutenant Barnum assumed command of the rifle company, reorganized the unit under fire, directed air attacks from exposed positions, and coordinated helicopter evacuation of the dead and wounded. He was the fourth Marine to receive the Medal of Honor for actions in Vietnam. DDG-124 carries that legacy forward with Aegis Baseline 9, integrated air and missile defense, and a 96-cell Mk 41 Vertical Launch System capable of engaging threats across air, surface, and subsurface domains. Built by General Dynamics Bath Iron Works, the ship represents the proven core of US Navy surface warfare capability and Atlantic Fleet forward presence.

Perfect For: US Navy surface warfare veterans, Arleigh Burke-class destroyer enthusiasts, Marine Corps Medal of Honor historians, Vietnam War commemorators, DDG-124 crew members and families, Naval Station Norfolk alumni, military sticker collectors, shadow box builders, cruise book displays, reunion gifts, and anyone who wants an officially licensed piece tied to one of the most compelling ship-naming stories in modern Navy history.

Barney Barnum's courage, sealed in vinyl, ready for the locker, the lid, or the shadow box.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0742/9831/files/4Patch_18_7124adbd-15b8-4a91-be21-03bc987da3ac.png?v=1782930806
https://marinepatches.com/products/officially-licensed-us-navy-uss-harvey-c-barnum-jr-ddg-124-sticker
