The wing's primary mission is to receive, verify, and retransmit Emergency Action Messages to U.S. strategic forces around the clock, using the Boeing E-6B Mercury aircraft as the airborne link between the National Command Authority and the full nuclear triad of manned bombers, land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles, and submarine-launched ballistic missiles. SCW-1 also serves as the operating platform for USSTRATCOM's airborne command post, known as Looking Glass, a role that underscores the wing's place at the center of the nation's most consequential deterrence architecture. Over 1,300 active-duty sailors and 100 contractors support the wing's maintenance, security, operations, and training functions daily. In May 2026, SCW-1 was awarded the Omaha Trophy, recognizing its sustained excellence in global strategic nuclear deterrence operations. This shoulder patch represents that mission, that community, and the quiet professionalism behind one of the most critical continuous-alert commitments in the U.S. military.

Perfect For: U.S. Navy veterans and active-duty sailors assigned to SCW-1, VQ-3, VQ-4, or VQ-7, E-6B Mercury aircrew and maintainers, TACAMO community alumni, nuclear deterrence historians, Tinker AFB unit collectors, shadow box and display board builders, reunion gifts, and anyone preserving the story of the Navy's airborne nuclear command and control mission. It also suits family members and supporters who want a meaningful tribute to the sailors who keep the link alive every hour of every day.

TACAMO heritage, stitched for the sailors who hold the line between deterrence and silence.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0742/9831/files/0916_1_68c3bd26-2ddb-4888-a273-da9a638cdccc.jpg?v=1790267932
