The battalion fought at Guadalcanal, Peleliu, and Okinawa in World War II, pushed through Inchon and the Chosin Reservoir in Korea, and served across multiple provinces in Vietnam. During the Global War on Terror, 3/7 completed eleven sequential combat deployments, including five to Iraq, three to Afghanistan, and three under Operation Inherent Resolve. Kilo Company, one of the battalion's three rifle companies alongside India and Lima, shares that full weight of service. The company is perhaps best known in connection with Corporal Jason Dunham, a rifle squad leader with 4th Platoon, Kilo Company, whose actions on April 14, 2004, near Karabilah, Iraq, earned him the Medal of Honor posthumously — the first awarded to a Marine for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Dunham had voluntarily extended his enlistment to deploy to Iraq with his Marines. In his honor, the Navy later named a destroyer the USS Jason Dunham. Kilo Marines continue to train at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, California, where the battalion is currently based under the 7th Marine Regiment and 1st Marine Division. This embroidered patch represents that specific company identity within one of the Corps most operationally tested battalions.

Perfect For: 3/7 veterans and active Marines, Kilo Company alumni, 1st Marine Division collectors, 7th Marine Regiment historians, family members of deployed Marines, shadow box builders, unit reunion displays, challenge coin and patch boards, GWOT memorial collections, and anyone preserving the story of infantry service across eight decades of Marine Corps history.

Kilo Company, 3/7 — stitched in thread, earned in every theater the Corps has entered since 1941.
